Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support the purchasing department in various tasks related to procurement, inventory management, and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ERP systems and materials management, with experience in sourcing and negotiation. This position is crucial for ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the procurement process by sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotes for materials and services.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels using ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400.
• Collaborate with the purchasing team to negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors to secure favorable terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory control to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
• Support logistics operations by coordinating the timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Participate in production planning meetings to align purchasing activities with production schedules.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
• Assist in the development of e-commerce strategies related to procurement and merchandising.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of materials management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and supply chain management principles.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, and negotiation is preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory management practices and logistics operations.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
