Rural Electric Supply Cooperative (RESCO), is a member-owned, wholesale distributor of high voltage electrical products. We are looking for an IT Technical Team Lead. This position is responsible for actively supporting and improving the company’s IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, cybersecurity posture and ERP systems to ensure reliable, secure and efficient business operations. This role is advisor-focused and hands on, serving as the technical authority and primary escalation point while providing day-to-day technical leadership and mentorship to the internal IT team. The IT Technical Team Lead will partner with business stakeholders, vendors and IT leadership to advise on technical solutions, risks and tradeoffs and to lead the implementation of approved initiatives. Responsibilities include:
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud environments.
- Ensure high availability, performance, reliability, and security of all internal IT systems and services.
- Act as the highest-level technical escalation for complex or high-impact IT issues.
- Oversee daily internal IT support operations to ensure timely resolution of service requests and incidents.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and protocols to protect company data and IT assets.
- Monitor and respond to security risks, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
- Implement and maintain risk management strategies, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
Enterprise Applications & ERP
- Manage and support the company’s ERP system, ensuring it meets business requirements and is effectively utilized.
- Collaborate with business users to improve ERP workflows, integrations, and reporting.
- Oversee enterprise applications and ensure they are properly supported, documented, and maintained.
Asset, Vendor & Compliance Management
- Maintain IT asset management practices, including hardware inventory and lifecycle management.
- Ensure software licensing compliance and renewals.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and consultants to ensure effective service delivery and value.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and provide day-to-day technical direction to the internal IT team.
- Assign and prioritize work, review output, and support technical skill development.
- Participate in performance feedback, training, onboarding, and knowledge transfer activities.
- Promote documentation, standardization, and best practices across the IT function.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation for systems, procedures, and runbooks.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and technology modernization.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in information technology, computer science or related field and at least 10 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, enterprise applications and IT service management. Other qualifications include:
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including VMware, Meraki networking, Microsoft Azure, cybersecurity principles, and overall IT operations.
- Proven experience supporting Microsoft server and desktop environments, including configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of basic business principles and operational processes, with the ability to align technical solutions to business needs.
- Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and documentation.
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead by example through hands‑on engagement.
