Job Title: Backend Engineer

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to support a Data Migration initiative within the DFS organization. This role requires deep expertise in backend engineering, large-scale data processing, and AWS-based data migration frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services supporting DFS data migration.
• Design and optimize data processing workflows leveraging Java, Spark, and AWS services.
• Build and enhance data movement pipelines across systems and datasets.
• Integrate with AWS Glue, RDS, S3, and related services to support migration and transformation.
• Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and data integrity issues.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and platform teams to ensure migration success.
• Support productionization, QA validation, and release readiness of migration components.

Required Skills:

• Expert-level Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services: Glue, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM.
• Hands-on Spark experience for large-scale data processing.
• Experience in enterprise data migration, ETL, or data integration projects.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend engineering principles.
• Ability to work in fast-paced cloud-native environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior DFS, credit, or financial services data domain experience.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, CodePipeline), Terraform, or containerization.
• Strong debugging, tracing, and performance optimization abilities.

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take ownership of deliverables.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on reliability and data quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $125.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
