Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network & Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, implementation, and support of complex client networks while providing expert server administration. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives on designing resilient infrastructures, troubleshooting critical issues, and producing exceptional documentation that drives consistency and compliance.

You’ll join a collaborative team supporting multi‑client environments where clarity, repeatability, and technical excellence are key. The ideal candidate combines deep networking expertise with strong server fundamentals and cloud awareness, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Operations

  • Design secure, scalable L2/L3 network architectures (routing, VLAN segmentation, SD‑WAN, HA)

Server Administration

  • Manage and support Windows Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)
  • Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V)
  • Perform OS patching, hardening, and backup strategy implementation
  • Assist with storage (SAN/NAS) and disaster recovery planning

Cloud & Integration

  • Support hybrid connectivity and security for Azure/AWS environments
  • Implement VPN/ExpressRoute and identity‑aware policies

Documentation & Compliance

  • Produce detailed HLD/LLD diagrams, MOPs, and as‑built documentation
  • Maintain configuration backups, inventories, and change records
  • Ensure compliance with frameworks such as HIPAA, CMMC, PCI

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with peers and project teams to deliver outcomes on schedule
  • Participate in rotating on‑call and planned maintenance windows
  • Deploy and harden firewalls (Fortinet strongly preferred), VPNs, wireless controllers/APs
  • Standardize configurations and rollout templates for repeatable deployments
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues using packet analysis and telemetry tools

Qualifications - Must-Haves

  • 8+ years hands‑on network engineering experience (design + operations)
  • 3–5 years server administration experience
  • Routing (BGP, OSPF), switching (L2/L3), VLANs, QoS
  • Firewalls (Fortinet preferred), VPN, segmentation
  • Windows Server roles and Active Directory
  • Virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Exceptional documentation skills and clear communication
  • Ability to work onsite daily in Crestview Hills, KY

Preferred

  • Networking: CCNP/CCIE, Fortinet NSE 4/7+
  • Server/Cloud: MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect
  • Experience with SD‑WAN, NAC/802.1X, and identity‑aware firewall policies
  • Familiarity with network documentation tools (NetBox, Visio/Lucidchart)
  • Exposure to compliance/security frameworks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
