Job description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Biomedical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the processing and production of medical products for use in surgical procedures including spinal fusions, joint reconstructions, wound care, and dental grafting.
Key responsibilities this position will perform include:
- Provides support to Processing Technicians in a cleanroom environment. Maintains a clean and microbe free cleanroom area by cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment.
- Safely handles chemical reagents and biohazardous waste according to standard operating procedures, applicable AATB standards and FDA regulations.
- Operating equipment used for obtaining particle counts within a cleanroom environment.
- Properly handle chemical reagents, and biohazardous materials/blood borne pathogens according to proper standards and regulations.
- Read and comprehend detailed procedures, and accurately document information in quality records.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., wear personal protective equipment, and routinely clean/disinfect clean room areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the aseptic processing of tissue including bone, soft tissue and osteoarticular grafts to produce frozen, fresh and freeze-dried allografts to be used for transplantation
- Operates surgical machinery to cut, shape and prepare grafts for implantation, including operation of bone mills, band saws, CNC machines and other pieces of equipment used in the production, packaging and storage of tissue
- Assembles, disassembles, inspects, cleans, maintains, and monitors equipment and instruments used in processing
- Documents all processing activities completely and accurately on processing paperwork and in electronic records software
- Communicates deviations from procedures and abnormalities to responsible parties (Supervisor, Management, Department, etc.)
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies
- Evaluates disposables and equipment for non-conformities and notify responsible parties (QC, Supervisor, and/or Management)
- Performs general lab cleaning, wrapping, sterilization and maintenance activities
- Operate steam autoclaves for sterilization of instruments, equipment, and consumable supplies used in the processing of tissue
- Safely disposes of hazardous and nonhazardous waste generated during the manufacturing process
The Processing Support Technician will have the opportunity to complete an extensive training program.
The ideal candidate will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications to include Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.

Pay: From $26.60 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
