Prefix Technologies

Full-time

St. Louis, MO

Job description

Job Summary

Love managing networks? Already worked for an MSP? Ready for new challenges?

We’re looking for someone who has worked independently – having full responsibility for building networks from the ground up. You’ll support our clients both remotely and about 40% in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. You’ll manage the whole data path – ISP/Firewall/Server/Switch, and down to the nuts and bolts of AV, vertical apps, etc. You are afraid of nothing.

This position will touch all aspects of client networks as well as interfacing with management. You’ll be involved with all our network, security, and cloud technologies, as well as with our management systems. If you want to be an important part of a growing organization, then this may be the right position for you.

We require an intelligent, experienced technician with an outgoing personality and excellent communication skills. You will be the main interface with our clients with the responsibility to perform and track maintenance and repair tasks as well as to communicate their needs to management. As administrator, you'll have authority over assigned systems to ensure network stability and performance, while prioritizing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving problems. You'll also act in a project management role for upgrade projects of both hardware and software. Depending on the client, you may work either remotely or on-site, performing basic and advanced tasks, as well as in-depth troubleshooting.

Responsibilities and Duties

You’ll be responsible for the stability and improvement of all network administration functions on our clients' networks – monitoring system health, correcting problems and improving configurations, and ensuring proper maintenance and updates. As required, you'll troubleshoot and diagnose problems, and communicate your findings to clients, co-workers, and management. While you generally make your own schedule, you should be prepared to work on-site.
