Learning Experience Developer (Remote – Contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a Learning Experience Developer who designs learning that changes what people actually do at work. This role goes far beyond converting content into slides or templates. You will build interactive, practice-focused digital learning experiences that help learners make decisions, apply knowledge, and perform better on the job.

You’ll collaborate closely with Instructional Designers and stakeholders to bring learning strategies to life using Articulate and NovoEd, making thoughtful design choices grounded in how people learn—not just how tools work.

This is a fully remote opportunity to directly shape modern, high-impact learning experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with Instructional Designers and stakeholders to build learning aligned to real job performance
• Develop interactive learning experiences using Articulate and NovoEd
• Design scenarios, decision-based activities, and practice opportunities (not passive content)
• Apply evidence-based learning and multimedia principles to reduce cognitive load and improve retention
• Make intentional design decisions around layout, visuals, interactions, and media
• Prototype, test, and iterate learning solutions based on feedback
• Ensure accuracy, usability, and high development quality across all deliverables
• Ask thoughtful questions to improve clarity, relevance, and learning effectiveness

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Educational Technology, UX, Digital Media, Computer Science, or related field
• 7+ years of experience developing digital learning experiences
• Strong portfolio demonstrating interactive, scenario-based, or practice-focused learning
• Hands-on experience with Articulate and NovoEd
• Strong understanding of how people learn and how design choices impact attention, memory, and transfer
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in high-quality work
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Axonify
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or AI-assisted tools
• Experience using no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., Webflow, Zapier)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the Learning Experience (LX) and Learning Leadership teams
• Collaborate with Instructional Designers to ensure learning supports performance outcomes
• Partner with SMEs to clarify content and ensure accuracy
• Coordinate with project managers to meet timelines and milestones

• Lack experience in graphic design, motion graphics, or interactive development
• Are unable to work remotely or communicate effectively in a distributed team
• Struggle with deadlines or managing multiple projects
• Are unwilling to collaborate or incorporate feedback

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65.00 - $77.00 per hour
