With operations in Boise and multiple remote locations, we rely on strong, reliable IT infrastructure to support our engineering, manufacturing, and business systems.

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee and lead all IT operations across the organization.

Position Summary

The IT Manager will be responsible for the overall management, security, and performance of Western Trailer’s IT systems across our Boise headquarters and multiple remote locations.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic oversight and day-to-day technical involvement. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing infrastructure, supporting users, working with vendors, and guiding long-term IT strategy.

Key Responsibilities

IT Leadership & Strategy

• Oversee IT operations for Boise and 7 remote locations
• Develop and implement IT strategy aligned with business goals
• Partner with leadership and department heads to support operational needs
• Research, plan, and implement IT projects and improvements
• Provide reporting and recommendations to management

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

• Manage and maintain VMware environment
• Administer Windows Server infrastructure
• Manage Active Directory (200+ users)
• Oversee storage systems (multi-terabyte environment)
• Ensure backup and data protection systems are reliable and effective

Cloud & Business Systems

• Support and administer Microsoft 365 and Azure
• Support ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics or similar)
• Oversee accounting software systems, including setup, security, and support
• Support engineering systems including Autodesk Suite and Vault Pro

Network & Security

• Manage LAN/WAN and wireless networks across all locations
• Administer Cisco firewalls, networking, and phone systems
• Manage Cisco Meraki security camera systems
• Ensure enterprise-wide network and system security
• Oversee mobile device management (Verizon phones)

Support & Operations

• Oversee desktop support, hardware, and remote user environments
• Manage vendors including CompuNet, CDW, Fishers, Verizon, and data centers
• Handle licensing, contracts, and vendor relationships
• Ensure high availability and performance of all systems

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT management or senior IT leadership role
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• VMware
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• Network infrastructure and security
• Experience managing enterprise-level IT environments
• Experience with backup, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices
• Strong vendor management and project management experience
• Ability to handle multiple priorities across locations and systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP or similar systems
• Experience with Azure cloud environments
• Experience supporting engineering software environments (Autodesk, Vault, etc.)
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
