Role Summary

The Microsoft 365 Solutions Architect designs the overall technical architecture for M365 and Power Platform capabilities for a large federal client. This role translates business needs into integrated solutions across Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Power Platform, Purview, and AvePoint, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead solution architecture for new and existing M365 workloads, including information architecture, integrations, and security models.
• Define reference architectures, patterns, and standards for M365 and Power Platform solutions.
• Design Power Platform environment strategy and ALM (Dev/Test/Prod, DLP policies, pipelines).
• Work with enterprise architects and security teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise & security architecture and regulatory requirements.
• Provide architectural oversight for migrations, tenant restructurings, and AvePoint-based backup/restore strategies.
• Review designs proposed by developers/consultants, providing guidance and design approvals.
• Produce high-quality architecture diagrams and documentation for stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Evaluate new M365 capabilities (e.g., Copilot) and recommend adoption plans.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with Microsoft 365 and related cloud technologies, including architecture-level work.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Power Platform, Azure AD/Entra ID.
• Demonstrated experience designing secure, high-availability, enterprise-scale solutions.
• Experience working with governance, compliance, and security teams on M365.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting architectures to technical and business audiences.
• Ability to obtain public-trust level investigation

Preferred

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, PL-600, AZ-305, SC-300/SC-400.
• Experience in federal government or similarly complex organizations.
• Familiarity with AvePoint, Purview, Defender in M365 contexts.
