Overview:
As a front end developer, you will be responsible for developing new user-facing features, translating the structure and design of web pages into actual code that will produce visual elements, building reusable codes, applying CSS, and using a variety of markup languages to create the web pages. You will work with the Director of User experience and bridge the gap between the website designs and technical implementation.
Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Translate Figma web page designs into usable, responsive code
- Build and edit web pages using drag-and-drop page builder design tools maintaining responsiveness, accessibility, and design integrity across various screen sizes.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Collaborate with other team members
- Writing website code with programming/markup languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, and JQuery to create user-friendly web pages
- Producing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces
- Incorporating applications, graphics, audio and video clips into client websites
- Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones
- Routinely testing websites for ease of use, speed, validity of links, and other quality factors
- Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise
- Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
- Developing features to enhance the user experience.
Skills:
- Front-End Customization - Modify and enhance existing websites by writing pure CSS, HTML, and JavaScript/Query without relying on modern frameworks.
- Deep CSS Expertise - Implement pixel-perfect designs, resolve cross-browser compatibility issues, and work with complex layouts, animations, and responsive behavior.
- JavaScript & Query Mastery - Develop interactive components, modify DOM elements dynamically, and handle AJAX requests efficiently using native JavaScript and Query.
- Code Debugging & Optimization - Analyze and troubleshoot front-end issues, optimize page performance, and ensure accessibility and usability across different platforms.
- Seamless Integration - Customize third-party widgets, embed scripts, and modify website behavior without disrupting existing functionality.
- Basic knowledge of backend coding languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, PHP, etc) and frameworks/systems.
- Self-sufficient, resourceful problem solver with strong attention to detail—able to take minimal direction, document instructions, proactively identify and fix issues, and seek guidance only after thorough troubleshooting.
- Works well with deadlines and can easily manage time while communicating priorities and expectations to a variety of collaborating team members.
- Basic understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Comfortable working remotely and independently, and have the time management and self discipline to get things done in a fast-paced environment with clients and team members across time zones
- Are not the kind of person who needs to have their work checked or be micromanaged (you always send client-ready work)
