Geospatial Data Scientist

EpochGeo is looking for a mid-level Geospatial Data Scientist to support one of the most innovative, exciting, and growing offices that is rooted in geospatial analytics in the national security space.

Location-based big data can be overwhelming, inaccessible, and noisy. EpochGeo is a data services firm specializing in supporting the full spectrum data cycle: beginning with scalable data storage, building algorithms or workflows, and ending with impactful analytics. Our developers, analysts, and data scientists have a proven track record developing open-source innovative technology and actionable analytics to inform customers’ data driven decisions.

Your background likely includes:

• 5+ years of experience working in data analytics, data science - to include, geospatial modeling, predictive analysis, time series analysis, machine learning, and/or AI.
• Education or military experience in Geography, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Must have Python or R, and SQL experience, and have experience applying it to client requirements.
• Experience with large volume geospatial data, multi-INT analytics, or automated analytics.
• Intelligence Analyst Experience in any of the following disciplines is a plus: open source exploitation, geospatial intelligence products, or statistical analysis.

What you will be doing:

• Working with multiple data information types to; deconstruct key questions, leverage spatial data, exploit APIs, recommend methodologies, and develop algorithms.
• Creating automated workflows or algorithms and machine learning models from big data to discover insights.
• Collaborating with software engineers to implement distributed/scalable algorithms.
• Exploiting multiple geospatial big data environments for insights that can be automated at scale.
• Working in a dynamic environment with ever evolving requirements.

Bonus:

• Professional Certificate or Master’s degree in Data Science, Geography, Mathematics, etc.

Additional:

• Must hold a TS/SCI clearance and up-to-date CI Poly or willing to submit for one.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
