We are seeking a dedicated Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in bus driving, particularly in school or paratransit settings.

Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a bus following a set schedule and route
- Ensure the safety of passengers during transit
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior
- Communicate effectively with passengers and respond to inquiries
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations at all times

Requirements:

- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger and School Bus endorsement
- Previous experience in bus driving
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
- Excellent driving record with no major violations

Duties

• Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles along designated routes, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle mechanical integrity and readiness for daily use
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing support for children with special needs or childcare requirements
• Maintain clear communication with dispatchers, school staff, parents, and emergency responders as needed
• Manage student behavior on the bus through positive behavior management techniques
• Ensure all passengers are seated and follow safety rules during transit
• Complete accurate logs of routes, incidents, and vehicle maintenance checks to ensure compliance with regulations

Experience

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus driving or paratransit services
• Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles, preferably with working knowledge of school bus operations or senior care transportation
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
• Experience working with children or in childcare environments demonstrating patience and behavior management skills
• Customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries professionally and courteously
• Familiarity with driving regulations related to school buses or passenger transport services
• Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, and occasional special events
