Job Title: Cybersecurity Analyst I
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Hybrid role. Must live local to the Raleigh area.
Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Analyst I protects the Coastal network from intrusions and ensures that user and member data remain secure. The role monitors for, and responds to, cybersecurity incidents within Coastal's environment, writes new alerts, tunes existing alerts, hunts for anomalous or malicious activity, and responds to user reported activity. In the event of an incident, a Cybersecurity Analyst I will participate in the remediating and resolving the incident and any subsequent recovery activity.
As a key contributor to the Coastal team, your responsibilities will be:
(50%) Monitor Tools and Queues for Incidents Monitor SIEM, ITSM, tools, and email for alerts indicating anomalous or malicious behaviors. Upon successful detection of anomalous or malicious activity, take appropriate remediation actions to resolve the incident.
(30%) Investigate Anomalous or Suspicious Activity Conduct hunts and proactive investigations into the network and hosts to discover any activity missed by monitoring tools or other detection methods.
(20%) Write Alerts and Tune Tools Write new alerts and tune existing tools and alerts to combat emerging threats and tailor detection to the specific Coastal environment with the goal of closing gaps and improving fidelity.

Experience:
- One year of experience in an IT related field. Experience in Cybersecurity is preferred with an emphasis on alert monitoring/incident response.
- Experience dealing with information technology incidents and troubleshooting or investigating said incidents.
- Basic skills on Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Skills in Windows OS, Linux (desirable).
Education:
- Related bachelor's degree or four years additional experience in lieu of degree.
- Certification in an IT field showing knowledge of networks and/or systems, such as CCNA, A+, Net+. Cybersecurity specific certifications are preferred, such as Security+ and CEH.

Must be able to learn and retain information; resolve problems and think sequentially; remain in a stationary position; constantly operate a computer; and converse with others on a continual basis.
