DevOps Engineer

Overview:

At Softtek Government Solutions, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve customer experience, we’re looking for a DevOps Engineer who can be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for automating and improving our software development and delivery processes. You will work closely with development and operations teams to build and maintain the infrastructure for our applications, focusing on the .NET Core 8 and Azure tech stacks. You will work as a member of an agile development team with other developers, data scientists, UX Designer, etc.

Objectives of this role

• Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
• Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
• Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions

Responsibilities:

• Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
• Build tools to reduce the occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
• Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
• Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
• Develop scripts to automate visualization
• Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

Required skills and qualifications

• B.S. (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
• 5-8+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Gitlab
• Kubernetes Configuration and container deployment
• Experience working with Azure DevOps and Microsoft Visual Studio Code
• Programming in C#, PowerShell, Python, Bash, YAML, JSON
• Application Containerization with Docker
• Problem-solving attitude
• Collaborative team spirit

Preferred skills and qualifications

• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
• Experience in developing/engineering applications for a large company
• Experience with the federal government
