We are seeking an experienced IT Financial Planning Manager to lead and optimize our IT budgeting and financial operations. This role is vital to maintaining accurate financial data for IT assets and liabilities, guiding IT service valuation, and providing the insights that drive strategic decisions across the department.
You will collaborate closely with senior IT leadership to manage operating and capital budgets, track direct and indirect costs, and develop robust financial forecasts. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in financial planning within tech-driven environments—ideally Health IT—and a passion for improving financial processes at every level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and oversight of the comprehensive IT budget
- Maintain financial accounting for IT assets, liabilities, and services
- Track variances, analyze trends, and deliver current and forecasted spend reports
- Manage operational and capital accounts across IT functions
- Develop and enhance financial management policies, procedures, and tools
- Provide cost modeling, service valuations, and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions
- Partner with department heads to promote financial accountability and process adoption
- Champion the use of business intelligence tools for financial visibility and planning
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Business and financial analysis in an IT department or technology setting
- Familiarity with Health IT operations, systems, and procurement
- Advanced skills in Power BI and financial analytics platforms
- Experience mentoring IT leaders in financial best practices and tools
- Proven success in deploying and institutionalizing financial processes/programs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5–8 years of finance/accounting experience, with at least 2 years in IT budgeting
- 4 years of experience in IT procurement, pricing, and inventory tracking
- Knowledge of cost accounting, allocation methodology, and financial modeling
- Familiarity with server infrastructure, network, desktop systems, and software licensing
- CITAM certification required within 2 years of hire, and must be maintained annually
