Applications Engineer - Machinery and Automation
Established over 100 years ago, Mitchell Machine Inc. is a leading supplier of Custom Automated Machinery, Tooling, and Subcontract Manufacturing services. Our customer base includes manufacturers in the semiconductor, aerospace, energy, automotive, medical, and defense industries.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven technical problem-solving skills and effective sales methods to be based in our Springfield, Massachusetts facility. As an Applications Engineer, you will be focused on developing new business as well as retaining and expanding sales with existing customers by providing innovative machinery solutions to support their manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Prospect, develop and close new business with new and existing customers.
-Regularly travel to perform customer consultations to determine needs and solutions; and obtain detailed information for estimates and proposals.
-Generate machinery concepts with Engineering team, produce budgets, and sales proposals.
-Maintain involvement on projects, demonstrations, and existing customer orders to meet deadlines and budgets.
-Utilize and maintain HubSpot CRM for all prospecting and customer activities.
-Utilize and maintain the mitchellmachine.com website, generating new content on a quarterly/event basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
-BS/BA degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in automated machinery design.
-Previous outside sales experience with custom designed and manufactured equipment is preferred.
-Strong professional communication and presentation skills.
-Innovative approach to problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a results-based environment.
-Effective closer capable of handling customer demands and negotiating positive outcomes for both the client and Mitchell Machine.
-Mechanical/technical aptitude related to machinery and machine shop services.
-Computer proficiency in SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, as well as experience in using CRM software.
-Must be a US citizen and have a valid driver's license.
