Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure & Network Administrator to support and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across distribution centers and corporate locations.

This role is mission-critical to warehouse operations — ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for RF handhelds, vehicle-mounted terminals, VoIP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), shipping systems, and ERP integrations. Network reliability directly impacts picking, packing, shipping, and invoicing performance.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Network Reliability

  • Maintain high-availability LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure across distribution centers.
  • Design and optimize high-density RF wireless environments (handheld scanners, forklifts, yard coverage).
  • Troubleshoot latency, roaming, and RF interference affecting warehouse productivity.
  • Support WMS connectivity and real-time transaction integrity.

Network & Security Engineering

  • Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
  • Implement secure segmentation (VLANs, ACLs) between warehouse, corporate, and guest networks.
  • Perform firmware upgrades and hardware refresh projects.
  • Maintain secure remote access for support teams and remote facilities.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

  • Utilize monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, NetFlow, Syslog) for proactive issue detection.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for outages impacting operations.
  • Maintain capacity planning and performance documentation.

Core Infrastructure Support

  • Support Windows Server, VMware, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory environments.
  • Maintain connectivity for VoIP, label printers, automation systems, and EDI integrations.
  • Support disaster recovery planning and redundant connectivity for critical sites.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, network diagrams, IP schemas, and VLAN documentation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, WMS teams, ERP teams, and third-party logistics partners.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of enterprise networking experience.
  • Experience in distribution, 3PL, retail, or manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and wireless optimization.
  • Hands-on firewall management experience.
  • Proven troubleshooting and documentation discipline.

Pay: $76,183.48 - $91,747.85 per year
