POSITION TITLE: Sr. Software Engineer

REPORTS TO: Software Engineering Director

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Participates in overall software application design and architecture. Responsible for designing and developing software modules with medium level scope and complexity for cloud applications, or interface with embedded devices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understands and relates customer needs to the products we develop.

• Assists in functional specifications development and creates high-level designs prior to product development.

• Checks test quality and accuracy.

• Provides customer support as required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient in one or more areas for Cloud development such as:

o Web Application software development experience

o Database experience in both SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres (AlloyDB), Big Query and Redis

o BI tools, such as Holistics, Looker

o Python experience including frameworks such as Flask or Django o GUI design, usability testing and design tools

o HTML, JavaScript (preferably TypeScript), CSS

o Web services development experiences REST and MQTT

o Web application frameworks, such as Angular and Aurelia

o Kubernetes and/or containerized application development

• Intermediate knowledge of developing software in Linux Operating System

• Strong foundation in ML and Data Mining with hands-on experience working with large datasets

• Knowledge of development tools (IDE), source code control (Git)

• Knowledge of test development and continuous build/integration pipelines

• Experience working in Agile / Kanban product development environment

• Debugging and trouble shooting skills using Visual Studio

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE or CS required

• 2-4 years of work experience or Masters in Computer Science or Information Technology

COMPENSATION AND OTHER

Salary range $95k-$105k
