Job Title: Senior Network Engineer / Architect
Overview
The Senior Network Engineer/Architect is a key technical and leadership position responsible for the design, implementation, and advanced support of mission-critical global network infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise with Juniper and Palo Alto Networks technologies, particularly in large-scale enterprise and service provider environments. The ideal candidate combines architectural vision with operational excellence to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance across complex network systems.
Responsibilities
- Architect, plan, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance WAN, LAN, and data center networks using Juniper routers and switches, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Develop and maintain MPLS core network architecture, including L2/L3 VPNs, Traffic Engineering (TE), and routing protocols such as LDP/RSVP.
- Design and implement complex BGP routing policies for multi-homed internet connectivity, inter-AS communication, and global route optimization.
- Lead network components of major infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
- Design, implement, and optimize Quality of Service (QoS) policies to guarantee high-quality performance for real-time services such as VoIP and IP Video Surveillance.
- Support reliable transport for VoIP services, including configuration of session border controllers, gateways, and related systems.
- Architect and support IP Video Surveillance (IPVS) networks, including camera-to-VMS communication, storage networking, and VLAN segmentation.
- Perform network capacity planning and traffic analysis to ensure scalability for high-resolution video and voice systems.
- Configure and manage Juniper SRX Series and Palo Alto NGFWs, including Security Policies, NAT, VPNs, User-ID, and App-ID.
- Enforce network security through VLAN segmentation, 802.1x authentication, and best-practice access control policies.
- Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex network incidents, ensuring timely root cause analysis and resolution.
- Use advanced monitoring and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) to troubleshoot network, voice, and video performance issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or architectural capacity.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Juniper Junos OS (MX Series Routers, EX/QFX Series Switches, SRX Firewalls).
- Expert-level proficiency with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) — path manipulation, route filtering, and peering.
- Extensive experience with MPLS networks, including LDP, RSVP-TE, and L2/L3 VPNs.
- Proven expertise in Palo Alto Networks technologies (Panorama, App-ID, Content-ID, WildFire).
- Strong background in designing and troubleshooting real-time traffic systems (VoIP, IP Video) with advanced QoS configuration.
