We have an immediate opening for a Principal Cisco Voice Engineer to join our team of talented engineers/architects supporting a large worldwide Federal customer.
The Cisco Engineer will ensure implementation of best practice solutions for voice communications services. The engineer will manage and implement voice solutions using Cisco Systems CUCM including but not limited to Communications Manager, Analog Voice Gateways, Cisco Unity, Publisher/Subscribers, Cisco CUBE (Cisco Unified Border Element), E911, Emergency Responder, etc.
The Engineer will provide Tier 3/4 support to over 40,000 customers in the continental US, document voice networks, prepare and perform migrations plans. Be an active participant in full integration of multiple vendor voice platforms; including Microsoft Teams Call Plan, Direct Routing, Avaya Aura, Webex Control Hub.
Description of Daily Duties:
- Provide support to internal teams and Federal Agency on voice network and applications including Secure Space and controlled space.
- Work with internal teams and Federal Agency to design and implement Voice Solutions leveraging Cisco CUCM 15.x Platform.
- Recommend solutions, improvements, strategy, and architecture for voice networks
- Resolve issues related to multiple voice platforms.
- Implement and troubleshoot enterprise Voice-related solutions/incidents/system outages
- Support Voice Architect in designing voice engineering initiatives for all project-related and ongoing operations support for voice communications services
- Respond to escalated incidents and service requests from Delivery/Operations Teams
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities, coordinate/facilitate planned/unplanned service outages, and ongoing project-related support activities. Recommend and integrate new Telecommunication Voice, Video and Unified Communications technologies
What are we looking for ?
- DoD Active Secret or higher clearance.
- Cisco Voice certifications preferred (not required!): CCIE or CCNP in Collaboration.
- 10+ years of experience with voice systems and voice networks with Cisco CUCM
- Experience with configuring DHCP scope, DHCP options, Phone configuration files, and voice features.
- Experience with Publisher/Subscribers, CUBE, VG3xx, Emergency Responder, Cisco Unity, Cisco SRST.
- Experience with network protocols and circuit provisioning standards.
- Understanding of LAN protocols such as 802.1q tagging, Quality of service with VoIP.
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with project teams and managers as a service provider
- Strong team player and team mentor
- Experience with designing E911 solutions highly desired.
- Strong writing skills; Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures, Technical White Papers.
