eNGINE is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to support our customer, a healthcare technology company headquartered in Pittsburgh. This is a high-impact role where you’ll bridge technical excellence with business value — helping them unlock the power of AI for better patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a small but growing AI engineering team (including hiring your first engineer).
• Architect and deploy production-grade AI/ML pipelines.
• Translate AI concepts for non-technical teams, ensuring clarity and adoption across the organization.
• Collaborate closely with leadership (COO/President, product teams) in a highly cross-functional, sleeves-rolled-up environment.
• Stay ahead of the curve in AI/ML advancements and apply them meaningfully to healthcare.

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years in AI/ML roles, including 2+ in technical leadership.
• Strong Computer Science foundation (vs. pure Data Science track), or extensive experience with healthcare, pharma, claims, or patient data.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), and MLOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI models (prompt engineering, fine-tuning, integration).
• Exceptional ability to explain AI concepts to non-AI stakeholders.
• A collaborative, adaptable leader who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-growing environment.
