Job Title: Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer

Position Summary:
Cortina Health/Dermatology is looking for an experienced Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in supporting the performance, reliability, and security of the systems that power our nationwide dermatology telehealth platform. You’ll work closely with engineering, clinical operations, and compliance teams to maintain cloud infrastructure, manage CI/CD workflows, and contribute to secure, scalable solutions that enable timely, high-quality care for patients across the country.
Key Qualifications:
Infrastructure & DevOps
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling, preferably with Terraform and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD systems
- Proficient in managing cloud infrastructure on AWS, with additional experience in DigitalOcean or Linode considered a plus
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and environment provisioning
- Familiarity with general systems architecture and scalable infrastructure design
Database Administration
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Ability to design, monitor, and optimize database performance, manage backups, and perform migrations
Security & Compliance
- Understanding of security best practices for modern web applications and infrastructure
- Experience working within regulated environments, with knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 compliance standards
- Ability to contribute to risk assessments, audits, and secure architecture planning
Application Awareness
- General familiarity with modern application development workflows, including TypeScript, Next.js, and Prisma
- Comfort collaborating with frontend/backend developers and understanding their infrastructure needs
AI & Productivity Tools
- Experience leveraging AI productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Codeium) to enhance development efficiency and workflows
On-Site IT & Telehealth Support
- Support local IT operations, including workstation setup, networking, and device troubleshooting
- Assist with Telehealth platform access, user onboarding, workflow troubleshooting, and cross-functional coordination with clinical operations
- Serve as a key technical point of contact for in-office support needs, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles
- Experience working on healthcare systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently and in collaboration with a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively
- A team player who thrives in a startup environment and is comfortable adapting to changing needs
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, especially in cross-functional environments
