Position Details
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Collaborates with technical experts to test monthly and ad-hoc upgrades, ensuring the smooth operation of the system.
- Serves as a valuable liaison between end users and technical staff, providing translation and assistance when needed.
- Works alongside the Clinical and Research Data Warehouse team (CRDW) to securely deliver data using REDCap.
- Contributes to the development and review of policy, procedure, and security documents.
- Provides comprehensive support to REDCap users, including account creation and management, approving database change requests, and addressing user inquiries while promoting best data practices.
- Develops and deliver end user training, equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize the application.
- Fosters collaboration and engagement by participating in the REDCap Consortium, representing Rutgers University.
- Acts as a facilitator for informatics requests and services from various departments and institutions, showcasing your expertise and contributing to the research community.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’ regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of experience in a relevant field or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of REDCap experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of its functionalities or equivalent experience in research design or database management.
- Familiarity with the Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) database model.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Understanding of statistical software packages (ie – R, SAS, Stata) or other programming languages such as PHP and python.
- Knowledge of healthcare research, HIPAA, and other health data regulations.
- Proven ability to deliver software training and provide technical customer support.
- Familiarity with data security best practices.
- A diplomatic and customer service-oriented disposition with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills, fostering positive relations with customers and end users.
- Ability to comprehend study design requirements and configure databases accordingly.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while seeking guidance when needed.
- A team player attitude, collaborating effectively on complex projects with coworkers.
- Quick learner with adaptability to evolving technology and its applications.
- Proficient coordination and prioritization skills, managing multiple tasks with potentially conflicting priorities.

- Occasional weekend and evening hours, and you will report directly to the REDCap Lead Administrator.

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
