Job description

Small and Sons Oil Dist. Co is looking for an enthusiastic and focused IT Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and helping users feel confident with their tools. You'll support a wide variety of systems, assist with projects, and play an important role in improving documentation, user education, and overall issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to internal and external users for computer systems, software, hardware, and phone systems.
  • Respond to support requests in person, by phone, email, or remote tools
  • Work collaboratively with the I.T. Manager to plan, execute, and review I.T. projects
  • Assist other teams with I.T. adjacent tasks, solutions, and goals
  • Deliver brief computer and phone training to users as needed
  • Create, update, and maintain clear I.T. documentation
  • Help cultivate user education to reduce recurring issues and empower staff
  • Maintain daily performance of computers, devices, and phone systems
  • Install, configure, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
  • Run diagnostics to identify and resolve technical problems
  • Troubleshoot issues related to LAN, WAN, and other systems
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 1-2 Years hands-on I.T. Support Experience in an office environment
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and a customer-focused mindset
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Intune administration
  • Basic understanding of system administration and networking fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate others
  • Comfortable managing documentation and contributing to continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+ certification (plus)
  • CompTIA Network+ certification (plus)
  • Familiarity with device management, Windows environments, and general I.T. best practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly: Use hands/fingers to operate computers, keyboards, mouse, and other technology
  • Frequently: Sit or stand for extended periods, walk up and downstairs
  • Frequently: Communicate clearly to exchange information and assist users
  • Occasionally: Stretching, reaching, (including above shoulders), bending, kneeling
  • Occasionally: Lift up to 50 lbs

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm, occasional overtime

Note: This is a 100% on-site position. Remote work is not available.

Salary: $25-$27 per hour to start (DOE).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
