Job Title: Software Engineer (React.js & Python) – DevX Team

Location: Richardson, TX (Hybrid – Onsite Tues/Thurs)
Work Authorization: cannot provide any sponsorship for this role.
Contract: Backfill for DevX Team

About the Role

Seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join the DevX (Developer Experience) team in Richardson, TX. This position is a backfill for an existing role and requires hands-on development skills in React.js and Python. The ideal candidate is a strong coder who can contribute to feature development, automation, and enhancements that support CBRE’s internal engineering ecosystem.

This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys working across the full stack, collaborating with engineering teams, and has an interest in emerging technologies, including AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using React.js (front-end) and Python (backend).
  • Contribute to the DevX team’s mission by building developer productivity tools, CI/CD automations, internal dashboards, and platform enhancements.
  • Work closely with senior developers and tech leads to deliver high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, technical discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Build integrations with APIs, internal systems, and automation pipelines.
  • Leverage AI capabilities where applicable (LLMs, automation, code-generation tools) to improve developer workflows.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize both frontend and backend services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across CBRE to enhance the developer experience.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, UI component libraries
  • Python (Flask, FastAPI, or similar frameworks)
  • Experience working with REST APIs and microservices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Exposure to AI tools, LLMs, or machine learning integrations is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, version control, testing, and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience on a DevX, Developer Productivity, or Platform Engineering team.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure preferred).
  • Experience with Docker or containerized environments.

Work Model

  • Hybrid: Required onsite in Richardson, TX office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
