Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Director of Information Services to join our team. This individual is responsible for the administration of the organization's network, specifically involving the design, configuration, maintenance, security, monitoring, installation and troubleshooting of all network software and hardware. The Director reports to and works directly with the Chief Operating Office, collaborating with senior staff and the management team to maintain operational objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Design, plan and install upgrades and periodic maintenance for network hardware and software.
  • Manage computer and software inventories in all offices.
  • Manage the physical installation and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Provide technical support beyond the user community.
  • Establish and maintain network users, user environments, directories, and security in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems.
  • Work with the technical staff to resolve data communications issues on the wide-area link.
  • Monitor company’s Internet connection to ensure maximum up time.
  • Monitor network performance to specifications that optimize the organization's network environment.
  • Monitor network security and maintain up-to-date malware protection.
  • Maintain updated documentation of the network schematic diagram.
  • Respond to the needs and questions of network users.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in network planning and design.
  • Monitor industry trends to make recommendations for network enhancements.
  • Assist with hurricane preparedness and disaster recovery.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Assignment, Review and Approval of Work

  • Projects are determined, reviewed and prioritized by the supervisor.

Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority

  • Administer the company’s LAN to ensure continuity and optimal performance.
  • Review and analyze network issues for effective corrective action.
  • Apply sound judgement in the application of network enhancements.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external contacts.
  • Adhere to IT Policies and Procedures.
  • Timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of current technologies and recommend beneficial network products or services.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Entra ID.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office365 applications.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver or other Web development platforms.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft App Services for hosting websites.
  • Ability to isolate and troubleshoot network problems.

Bonus Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure SQL Server.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric/Power BI.

Education, Training and Experience

  • Two years’ experience administering a networked environment

Licensure and Certification

  • Microsoft Azure certifications or related certifications preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office conditions. Requires occasional lifting of computer equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Requires handling electrical components.
  • Requires working in close quarters or under desks or on floor.
  • May require occasional evening and/or weekend work. Frequent use of computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
