Job description

Position Summary:

As a Systems Engineer, you will report directly to the IT Manager and play a key role in supporting and maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure. You’ll assist with system implementations, monitor network performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to ongoing improvements in IT operations.

Job Duties:

 Configure, manage, and monitor network devices including routers, switches, firewalls and access points.

 Manage Active Directory for user accounts, permissions, and group policies.

 Manage virtual environments using Hyper-V to optimize resource allocation.

 Administer operating systems including Windows 10/11 environments to support network operations.

 Manage and support mobile devices (i.e. phone, tablet) with MDM, audiovisual (AV) system and CCTV systems.

 Utilize Meraki solutions for cloud-managed networking services.

 Monitor network performance using tools that track TCP/IP traffic.

 Perform daily system monitoring - verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs.

 Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and follow up.

 Support SD-WAN configurations to enhance connectivity between multiple locations.

 Install new / rebuild existing servers / workstations / network equipment and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project / operational requirements.

 Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

 Perform system software maintenance, and apply operating system patches and upgrades in accordance with the IT system maintenance procedures, also upgrade administrative tools and utilities, configure / add new services as necessary.

 Provide first level IT hardware and software support per request from various users – investigate, troubleshoot, repair and recover; create, change and delete user accounts per request.

 Frequent travel to Restaurant locations for infrastructure maintenance/upgrades.

 Maintain IT hardware and software inventory as required.

 Serve as a point of escalation for IT incidents and IT requests as part of a team.

 Adhere to and support the IT SLAs and processes.

 Create and update documentation as needed.

Requirements:

 Proven experience as a Systems or Network Administrator or in a similar role within IT support

 Familiarity with Meraki products and their deployment in enterprise environments

 Proficiency in managing Active Directory services in a Windows domain environment

 Experience with various operating systems, particularly Windows Server editions and SQL

 Familiarity with virtualization technologies, specifically Hyper-V for managing virtual machines

 2 years experiences in Microsoft Office365 and the products i.e. Teams, One Drive, SharePoint, Power Bi

 2 years experiences in Active Directory and Microsoft Azure Services

 2 years experiences in Microsoft Exchange Services

 Be familiar with various MS Windows based system hardware and software administration including but not limited to M365 suite, virtualization, operating system, networking, computer operation or system programming

 Knowledge and hands on experience of PowerShell scripts

 Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Services, including Azure and Office 365, internet technologies and mobile technologies would be an asset

 Knowledge of MDM tools - InTune is a huge plus

 Good communication skills, possess systematic and analytical problem-solving ability

 Service oriented with good interpersonal and customer relations skills

 Demonstrate initiative, flexibility and responsiveness in completing tasks

 Able to work on after office hours, statutory holidays and weekend

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
