Column Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled technical API Modernization & Integration Consultant to support a short-term project focused on API analysis, modernization, and integration. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with legacy APIs, designing modern interfaces, and implementing secure, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Analyze and document legacy APIs, including behavior and structure

· Create clear and comprehensive API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger

· Redesign outdated interfaces into modern REST, GraphQL, or gRPC services

· Integrate APIs with gateways such as Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management

· Implement robust security protocols including OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS

· Produce developer-friendly documentation to support integration and onboarding

Required Skills & Experience

· Proven experience in API architecture, design, and documentation

· Strong understanding of modern API protocols and patterns

· Hands-on experience with API Gateway platforms

· Expertise in authentication and authorization standards

· Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation

· Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within a defined timeline

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

· Background in consulting or freelance project delivery

Job Types: Contract, Temporary

Pay: From $46.00 per hour

Expected hours: 100 – 150 per week
