Job Title: System Administrator

Location: Temple, Texas (onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive System Administrator to join our lean, fast-paced IT Infrastructure team. This role supports a diverse technology environment, including Windows and Linux servers, VMware environments, enterprise storage systems, and core networking components. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of hands-on expertise, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning.

This position requires a self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple systems, troubleshooting under pressure, and implementing technology improvements in a high-energy, collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, Office 365, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Manage and support Windows and Linux servers, including patching, scripting, and performance tuning.
  • Deploy and maintain VMware infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain enterprise storage systems (HP/Dell SANs and NAS).
  • Install, configure, and maintain open-source platforms such as LAMP stack.
  • Support and maintain networking infrastructure, including Cisco and Dell switches, routers, and firewalls (intermediate level).
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
  • Oversee backup and disaster recovery operations, including job scheduling, testing, and restoration.
  • Document systems, procedures, and infrastructure diagrams to ensure operational continuity.
  • Evaluate existing systems and contribute to technology upgrade and migration planning.
  • Analyze and resolve performance issues across systems and applications.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support and escalation for complex infrastructure-related incidents.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, take initiative, and embrace new challenges in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and contribute to team success.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in:
  • Active Directory and Office 365 administration
  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • VMware ESXi and vCenter
  • Enterprise storage systems (HP, Dell)
  • Network support (intermediate knowledge of routers, switches)
  • Backup/recovery solutions and data integrity
  • Strong scripting skills for automation and process improvement (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
  • Proven experience supporting or migrating legacy systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team setting.

Preferred Education & Certifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware VCP, CompTIA Linux+, or Cisco CCNA are a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
