As a Junior Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining innovative software solutions that empower agencies and organizations involved in criminal justice and rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the development team to design and implement software solutions that address the unique challenges of the probation, parole, and re-entry domains.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
Problem Solving:
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues within existing software applications.
- Work closely with senior developers to identify and implement effective solutions.
Technology Stack:
- Gain expertise in Reconnect Inc's technology stack and stay updated on industry trends.
- Contribute to the evolution and improvement of our software architecture.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance, to deliver high-quality software products.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Write unit tests and participate in the testing process to ensure the reliability and robustness of software applications.
Documentation:
- Create and maintain technical documentation for code, APIs, and other relevant project information.
Continuous Learning:
- Proactively seek opportunities for professional development and stay abreast of emerging technologies in the software development industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or 1-3 years in a related field.
- Familiarity with web development technologies.
- Basic understanding of databases and experience with SQL.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.

- We are a highly distributed company, employee will need to be able to work effectively from home, spend time in our Maine office and be available to travel 2-4 weeks a year to meet with your teammates in real life
