ReminderMedia is seeking a skilled and experienced Software Developer to join our growing development team. This full-time, remote position plays a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based systems that support our suite of digital products. Reporting to the Director of Software Development, the Software Developer will work across Firebase/Firestore and PHP/Laravel environments, translating business requirements into technical solutions, conducting code reviews, supporting peers, and contributing to the onboarding and training of new team members.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and developers, to understand project goals and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Break down business requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks for both cloud-based and server-side applications.
• Design and develop scalable applications using Firebase services such as Firestore, Cloud Functions, Authentication, and Storage.
• Build and maintain secure, real-time applications with support for offline functionality and seamless data synchronization.
• Write and support server-side applications using PHP and the Laravel framework, ensuring performance, maintainability, and compatibility with existing systems.
• Review code, mentor other developers, and provide technical guidance on best practices in cloud-native development, data modeling, and application security.

Remote Requirements

• Permanent residency in one of the following states is required: FL, GA, NC, SC, NJ, PA, DE, KY, IN, MI, TN, MO, MN, TX, OK, CO, NM, AZ, or NV only
• 40-hour standard weekly schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (EST or PST shift options available) weekdays with paid time-off, paid holidays and no night or weekend shifts.
• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace with high-speed internet service.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Firebase and Firestore in production
• 3+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel or similar frameworks
• Experience making technical decisions and leading development efforts preferred

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Firebase services: Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Functions (Node.js), Security Rules, and Hosting
• Strong knowledge of PHP, Laravel, and RESTful API development
• Experience with database design (Firestore and MySQL), Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and frameworks like React.js or Vue.js
• Understanding of modern cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud preferred), serverless architecture, and secure authentication (JWT, SSO)
• Experience with customer-facing applications (e.g., CRM, SaaS, marketing tools) and interest in AI/ML integration

Communication & Collaboration

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in remote, distributed teams
