We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our Remote DBA Services team. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and optimize our clients' database systems, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation to provide critical support when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and manage SQL database systems remotely for multiple clients.
• Monitor database performance, implement optimization strategies, and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and manage backup/recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures.
• Collaborate with development and client teams to design and implement database solutions.
• Perform capacity planning, conduct regular maintenance, and prepare system performance reports.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide timely support during critical incidents.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an SQL Database Administrator or similar role.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with database backup/recovery tools and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of database security, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Certification in SQL database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator) but not required.

Note: Participation in an on-call rotation is a required part of this position. This is a consulting opportunity, not contract-to-hire. Must be citizen of US to apply.
