Summary

Senior UX/UI Designer for Clinical Oncology Decision-Support Platform

Overview: We seek an experienced UX/UI Designer to help design the wireframes, user journeys, and GUI modes for a new oncology-based AI, an advanced cloud-based clinical decision-support platform. The platform assesses cancer risk and support physician decision-making across clinical, administrative, and patient-facing workflows. This role is ideal for a designer with experience in healthcare SaaS, clinical workflows, AI-driven interfaces, and regulated environments.

Background: The platform provides risk stratification, decision support, and explainability for pancreatic cancer and related diseases. It is:
* Cloud-based
* Browser-accessible
* Integrated with Epic (EHR)

Project Scope:

You will work closely with the founder and clinical stakeholders to design three distinct GUI modes, each with different users, goals, and UX requirements.

1. Physician / Clinical GUI (Primary Mode)
Key features:
AI-driven risk scores & stratification
Visual overlays with files, videos, images, data
Provide conclusions for recommended pathway
Clear clinical decision support (not prescriptive treatment)
Seamless Epic integration:
- Push summaries, flags, and recommendations into Epic
- Pull patient context from Epic
Sub-views for:
- Nurses
- Coordinators
- Administrative staff

2. Tumor Board Mode (Secondary Clinical Mode)
Optimized for multidisciplinary tumor board meetings.
Key features:
- Large-screen / presentation-optimized layouts
- Simplified, high-impact summaries
Side-by-side comparison of:
- Imaging
- Risk trajectories
- Historical data
- Timeline-based patient narratives
Minimal interaction friction during live discussions
Exportable or shareable views for case documentation

3. Patient-Facing GUI (Educational & Engagement Mode)
Designed for patients and caregivers.
Key features:
- Plain-language explanations
- Visual storytelling tied directly to their own images and videos
- Explainability without clinical jargon

Deliverables and Expected outputs include:
- User personas & journeys (physician, tumor board, patient)
- Low- to mid-fidelity wireframes
- High-fidelity GUI mockups (Figma preferred)
- Interaction flows for each mode
- Design system concepts (typography, color logic, hierarchy)
- Clear annotations for developer handoff

Ideal Candidate Profile and Requirements:
- Proven UX/UI experience with healthcare or medical software
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows
- Experience designing multi-role platforms
- Ability to simplify complex data into intuitive interfaces
- Expertise in Figma (or equivalent)
- Excellent communication and iteration skills

Highly Preferred - Experience with:
- AI/ML-driven products
- Oncology, radiology, or EHR-integrated systems
- Regulated environments (HIPAA, FDA-adjacent software)
- Familiarity with Epic or other EHR systems
- Experience designing patient-facing healthcare tools
