Senior Transit Data Analyst Position

Salary: $80,000

Start date: ASAP

Location: This could be an office-based telecommuting position or a fully remote position. For an office-based telecommuting position, personnel must live within one hour of our Charlottesville office. For this to be a fully remote position, candidates must live within the Washington D.C., Metropolitan area.

No relocation package: Must live in Charlottesville, Virginia, or the surrounding area.

Senior Transit Data Analyst

Spend your days

• Compile, analyze, and triage multiple sources of safety data related to safety events/accidents, hazards, corrective actions and safety performance monitoring and measurement.Assisting in other outreach and technical assistance development for client’s external outreach and communication activities.
• Provide presentations, reports, and other products to display information within operating and safety contexts.
• Develop safety-related documents, including revised procedures and plans; training materials and guides; memos, management reports, tracking matrices, and other similar materials.
• Create technical training for industry stakeholders.
• Providing support for other special projects including policy documentation, webinars, performance reporting, archived data review, and data product quality checking.
• Assisting in other outreach and technical assistance development for client’s external outreach and communication activities.

Bring with you

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) from an accredited school in a field related to data or information systems.
• At least 3 years of professional experience working with transit operations data or information systems.
• Experience conducting or supporting on site transportation audits desired, but not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and accurately disseminate information.
• A customer service mindset.
• Interest in public transportation industry.
• Presentation and report-writing skills.
• Microsoft Office fluency.
• Professional experience working in data analysis/wrangling/validation, finance/economics, or public transportation industry desired, but not required.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination status.
• Ability to obtain federal security clearance.
