May Institute is seeking an experienced Database Developer & Administrator (SQL) to maintain, optimize, and support our database systems. Reporting to the Senior Director of Applications, this role ensures data reliability, performance, and integrity across mission-critical systems that support our nationwide programs. About 40% of the work will focus on administration (maintenance, monitoring, security, and backups), while 60% will focus on development (query and procedure design, optimization, and data solutions).

What You’ll Do
- Maintain high availability and performance of SQL Server databases.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
- Ensure data integrity through backups, recovery plans, and security controls.
- Collaborate with developers and business leaders to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Maintain clear documentation and uphold data privacy and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in SQL Server administration and development.
- Strong skills in T-SQL, performance tuning, and database design.
- Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly and solve complex data issues.
