Job Summary
Performance One Data Solutions, a division of Ross Group Inc, is looking for a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. This is a full-time, remote position for a candidate based in the United States. The DBA will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of our clients' database environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This includes:
- Database Management: Perform routine administrative tasks such as backups, restores, and data migration. Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and optimize queries to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data integrity concerns. Provide on-call support as needed.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures. Manage user access, permissions, and roles to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards.
- Database Design & Development: Assist with database design, schema modifications, and the implementation of new features. Collaborate with developers and other IT professionals to support new and existing applications.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.
- Proven expertise with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of database architecture, relational database theory, and SQL.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
- Knowledge of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL Database Administrator).
