About the Role

As an AI/ML Engineer at TRA, you will drive the development of cutting-edge intelligent systems that revolutionize tax automation. You will design, build, and optimize advanced machine learning models to parse IRS transcripts, extract data from complex tax forms, and seamlessly integrate with tools like Lacerte for automated e-filing and streamlined workflows. This is a high-impact role at the forefront of artificial intelligence and tax operations, where you will collaborate with tax experts and engineers to deliver accurate, compliant, and production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize NLP and OCR models for structured document parsing and data extraction

• Design AI-driven workflows to automate processing of IRS transcripts and tax forms

• Integrate AI model outputs with tax filing systems such as Lacerte for e-filing, extensions, and other processes

• Partner with tax subject matter experts to validate model outputs and embed regulatory and business logic

• Continuously monitor and enhance model performance through retraining, fine-tuning, and robust evaluation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in AI/ML engineering, with expertise in Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar

• Proven expertise in OCR and NLP for structured document extraction and processing

• Hands-on experience with OpenAI APIs, Azure AI, or other large language model platforms

• Bonus: Familiarity with tax preparation software such as Lacerte or ProSeries

• Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering production-ready AI solutions

Compensation: Up to $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
