Type: Contract, project-based (≈ 6 weeks / ~1.5 months)

Budget guardrails: Please include hourly rate and total project estimate; target range $40–$60/ hr, capped by mutually agreed fixed project price tied to milestones.

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Senior or Mid-Level UX/US Designer as our company is redesigning the logged-in practitioner experience to make online ordering effortless, roll out a rewards/loyalty program, and reduce reliance on phone orders. The ideal candidate will lead the end-to-end UX effort -from customer feedback and user-flow mapping through wireframes, prototyping, testing, and delivery of developer-ready high-fidelity designs. Prior e-commerce or B2B portal work on the platform Shopify is required.

Key Outcomes (what success looks like):

  • A frictionless “log in → find products → checkout” flow with clear account tools (orders, reorders, saved carts).
  • A loyalty/rewards mechanism that’s simple, visible, and motivating at checkout and inaccount dashboards.
  • Documented design decisions, prototype, and handoff.

The Role (scope & milestones)

Week 1: Discovery & Alignment

Manager interviews (sales, support, operations) and quick review of customer feedback/support tickets.

Current-state audit of portal IA/flows; define success metrics and project risks. Deliverables: Research plan, synthesized findings, prioritized UX opportunities.

Weeks 2–3: Experience Design

Task flows and sitemap, low-fi wireframes for core paths (sign-in, browse, PDP, cart/checkout, account, reorder).

•* Rewards UX concept (earn, track, redeem) integrated into cart/checkout and account. Deliverables: *Wireframes + clickable low-fi prototype; design critique with managers.

Weeks 4–5: Iteration & Validation

Rapid usability checks (lightweight tests) on target user(s); iterate flows and IA.

  • Visual system sketch (components, states) aligned to brand and accessibility. Deliverables: Usability notes, updated prototype, component inventory.

Week 6: Handoff

High-fidelity screens for priority flows, redlines/specs, and a short implementation playbook (edge cases, empty states, errors, mobile). Deliverables: file, assets, handoff checklist, and 1–2 dev Q&A sessions.

Essential Skills & Qualifications (Shopify-focused)

• Level: Senior, or strong Mid-level with leadership/“management spike” (can self-direct, run stakeholder sessions, and drive decisions).

• Shopify UX expertise: Proven work improving logged-in customer experiences onShopify (accounts, reorder flows, price visibility, saved carts, order history).

• Checkout & cart patterns: Experience designing for Shopify Checkout (and, if applicable, Checkout Extensibility), upsells, discounts, and tax/shipping clarity.

• Loyalty/rewards integration: Has designed or implemented UX around loyalty points/rewards in Shopify using common apps, including earn/redeem visibility in cart, checkout, and account.

• Information architecture on Shopify: Comfortable structuring navigation, collections, variants/options, search/filters, and using metafields to surface key product info.

• Constraints-aware design: Understands theme systems and what’s feasible without heavy custom code; can annotate for a dev (Liquid/sections awareness helpful but not required).

• Research & synthesis: Runs stakeholder interviews, reviews support/feedback, does quick user validation, and translates insights into flows and wireframes.

• Design & handoff: Proficient in modern design tools. Delivers clickable prototypes, component specs, and redlines developers can ship.

• Mobile-first & accessibility: Designs responsive layouts that meet WCAG 2.1 AA considerations (forms, contrast, focus states, error messaging).

  • Analytics literacy (nice-to-have): Can read Shopify Analytics tools to inform iterations.

Contract & Budget

  • Structure: Fixed-price contract with milestone payments (Discovery → Design → Validation → Handoff).
  • Timeframe: ~6 weeks total (can be condensed/extended by mutual agreement).
  • Rate guidance: Provide hourly and fixed-bid; we aim to keep the total in a lean band (e.g., one-month equivalent at $40–$60/hr with a cap).

• What to submit: Portfolio links (relevant case studies), brief note on approach, availability, hourly rate, and fixed-bid estimate.

Join us in shaping exceptional digital experiences that resonate with users while driving business success!
