Job Profile Summary
This role is responsible for using analytics techniques on diverse data sources both internal and external to model complex business problems which can be used to make sound organizational business decisions. Data Scientists II conceptualize, design and develop analytics models in addressing complex business problems, discovering insights and identifying opportunities that are of value to internal and external business stakeholders, typically using a hypothesis-driven approach. They help in building new predictive Machine Learning models and monitoring the existing ones providing feedback for improvement.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Improves organizational financial performance through the application of original thinking to existing and emerging analytics methods, processes, products, and services
- Applies knowledge of statistics, data modeling, data sciences, and artificial intelligence to recognize patterns, and make valuable discoveries
- Conceptualizes, designs, develops and tests hypothesis analytics models for complex business problems
- Translates company business requirements into semantic access, conceptual, logical and/or physical data models
- Develops experimental design approaches to validate findings or test hypotheses
- Develops processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
- Collaborates with business stakeholders about the expected data quality and assures on the quality of information used in building models
- Educates the organization both from Data science and the business perspectives on new approaches, such as testing hypotheses and statistical validation of results
- Educates the organization both from EITS (Enterprise IT Security) and the business perspectives on new approaches
- Helps the organization understand the principles and the math behind the process to drive organizational buy-in
- Provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members
Additional Job Description
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience.
2-5 years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in life sciences, healthcare data analytics or data engineering.
