Job Summary: City Mattress is looking for a skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to join our IT team. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. The Senior Systems Administrator will additionally take a leadership role, providing strategic direction and expertise in managing complex IT environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain the organization's systems and server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues to ensure a seamless and efficient IT environment. Respond promptly to service requests and incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Ticket Management: Efficiently manage and prioritize service tickets using our ticketing system. Track and document all activities, resolutions, and communication for future reference.
  • Security Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's systems and data. Regularly perform security audits and take corrective action as necessary. Ensure only company-issued equipment is used when accessing our tools, solutions, and network unless it falls under our BYOD policy.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the unique IT requirements of various departments and ensure that IT solutions align with business objectives.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for system configurations, procedures, and protocols.
  • Upgrades and Patch Management: Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and installations. Ensure that all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and software versions.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to address potential issues before they impact operations. Implement and manage system monitoring tools.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with technology vendors to evaluate new products, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of services and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of system administration, network protocols, and security best practices.
  • Proficient in the administration of Windows server environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Network+, etc.) are a plus.
