Job description
Seeking a skilled Level 2 IT Support Engineer with strong troubleshooting skills, MSP experience, and a passion for scripting and automation. This role is ideal for an engineer who can independently resolve most issues, serve as an escalation point for Level 1, and travel on-site when needed for onboarding, escalations, or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve support tickets across multiple client environments
- Act as a technical escalation point for Level 1 technicians
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual work
- Use and maintain MSP tools including N-able, HaloPSA, ITGlue, and related platforms
- Participate in client onboarding, environment discovery, and documentation
- Travel on-site as needed for onboarding, support, hardware installations, and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate ticket notes, documentation, and client records
- Follow ITIL-aligned service delivery and cybersecurity best practices
Troubleshoot and Support
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Intune)
- Performance issues, application failures, and OS errors
- Device onboarding, imaging, and configuration
- User profile, permissions, and access issues
- Endpoint security, EDR alerts, and remediation
- Active Directory administration and troubleshooting
- DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management
- File servers, permissions, and access control
- Server performance, service failures, and patching issues
- LAN/WAN connectivity issues
- VPN troubleshooting (site-to-site and client VPN)
- Firewall rule validation and troubleshooting
- Switch, Wi-Fi, and network performance issues
- Backup job failures and restore testing
- Endpoint and email security alerts
- Basic virtualization support (Hyper-V / VMware)
- Cloud and on-prem hybrid environments
Participate in:
- Client onboarding and environment discovery
- New user, device, and tenant setup
Travel on-site as needed for:
- Client onboarding
- On-site support and troubleshooting
- Hardware installations and upgrades
- Emergency or critical incidents
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of IT support experience (MSP experience strongly preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, and networking
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Familiarity with MSP tools such as N-able, HaloPSA, ITGlue, or similar
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Entra ID
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities effectively
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
