Cloud/DevOps Engineer (Part Time)
Location: Remote
Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible schedule

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our development teams on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). In this role, you'll help us scale our infrastructure, improve deployment automation, and ensure our applications are production-ready. You’ll work closely with our Developers and QA/Operations Analyst to turn code into scalable, secure, and reliable services.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop or finetune Cloud and DevOps engineering experience through building real, production-grade systems from the ground up with different cloud platforms. From design, to build, to improve you will be involved in launching real products and doing it your way.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and manage infrastructure across multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).
● Design, build and integrate billed software/shared service model architectures.
● Help architect and refine our infrastructure-as-code strategy (Terraform, CloudFormation).
● Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and other tooling platforms.
● Support containerization and orchestration workflows (Docker, Kubernetes).
● Collaborate with developers to streamline deployments, improve developer tooling, and ensure production readiness.
● Define and enforce cloud security, monitoring, and performance optimization best practices.
● Proactively drive resilience, scalability, and cost-efficiency in our cloud environments.
● Troubleshoot issues across the stack and automate operational tasks wherever possible.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and core services (EC2, S3, IAM, etc).
● Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
● Proficient with Docker, GitHub, and container-based deployment workflows.
● Understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience implementing basic pipelines.
● Comfortable working with Linux, bash scripting, and system-level debugging.
● Collaborative mindset with a strong desire to support developers and build stable environments.
Preferred Skills
● Exposure to Kubernetes (EKS or self-managed) and orchestration patterns.
● Awareness and experience with service builds, shared service models, BYOL and other designs.
● Experience with log management, alerting, and monitoring (CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc).
● Understanding of IAM roles, secrets management, and general cloud security hardening.
● Experience with Azure or IBM Cloud is a bonus, but not required.
● Comfort evaluating and integrating open-source DevOps tools.
