Job Title: Junior AI / Machine Learning Engineer

Location: West Chester, PA (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months

Position Summary

The Junior AI / Machine Learning Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary Agile team responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-grade data platforms, microservices, web applications, and AI/ML solutions. This role supports the full Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) process and works closely with senior engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality AI-driven solutions.

The position has a strong emphasis on AWS-based machine learning development, model deployment, and cloud-native engineering in a regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, training, deployment, and monitoring of machine learning models using AWS services (SageMaker, Lambda, EC2, S3, Redshift).
  • Support automated ML workflows for training, testing, and deployment using AWS Step Functions, Lambda, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor model performance and assist with tuning, retraining, and optimization.
  • Participate in the full ALM lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, validation, deployment, and production support.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver AI/ML solutions.
  • Develop and maintain microservices and APIs supporting ML and data workflows.
  • Manage, preprocess, and analyze datasets using AWS data services.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Support DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, version control, and deployment pipelines.
  • Maintain technical documentation for models, workflows, and systems.
  • Provide Level 2+ production support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and enterprise governance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • 1–3+ years of professional experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or software development.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, especially:
  • SageMaker, Lambda, EC2, S3
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning libraries such as:
  • TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with version control and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, etc.).
  • Understanding of basic DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with additional AWS services such as Glue, Athena, DynamoDB, Kinesis, or Redshift Spectrum.
  • Exposure to containerization tools (Docker).
  • Experience with SQL and relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or generative AI concepts.
  • AWS Certifications (Machine Learning – Specialty or Solutions Architect – Associate).

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
