Job description
As a regional personal lines insurance carrier, we are seeking a Diamond IT System Admin and Configurator to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the administration of our insurance products on the Diamond Policy Administration System, which is integral to our operations.
This role develops and maintains business rules, product specifications, rating logic, workflow automation, and configuration of mostly personal and farm property and auto lines of business. The position works closely with Underwriting, Compliance, and Digital Experience teams to ensure accurate product definitions, rating integrity, efficient workflows, and positive user experience across internal and customer-facing systems.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with other policy administration systems within an IT department, as this role will require a strong understanding of insurance technology and policy management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Configuration & Business Rules
- Builds, maintains, and updates business rules, workflows, triggers, and Composer configurations.
- Maintains and updates product rating logic, including rating tables, factors, and calculation rules.
- Owns product specification development and configuration documentation across assigned lines of business (e.g., Dwelling Fire, Homeowners, Auto).
- Implements and tests configuration changes in collaboration with Underwriting and Product Development.
Product & System Support
- Works with Underwriting to support new product rollouts, program updates, and regulatory / rule changes.
- Supports Compliance and Regulatory teams with technical documentation for filings and required rating justification.
- Maintains form mapping logic and ensures accurate document generation.
- Serves as the internal owner of Diamond configuration requests, troubleshooting, and enhancement backlog.
Vendor & Platform Coordination
- Coordinates with Insuresoft on platform questions, configuration reviews, release planning, and environment management.
- Assists digital experience and portal teams with interpreting product specifications and translating UX requirements into Diamond rules, logic, and workflows.
Data Accuracy & Systems Administration
- Supports system data integrity and validates rating outcomes across environments.
- Ensures accurate data migration mapping for assigned product lines.
- Performs regression testing of configuration updates and version releases.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identifies opportunities to optimize workflows and reduce manual work using system automation, RPA tools, and AI-assisted logic.
- Participates in strategic automation initiatives within the Policy Administration ecosystem.
SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into system rules and structured logic.
- Understanding of insurance product rating, underwriting rules, or policy workflows (preferred).
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Diamond configuration including Composer workflows, rating engine logic, triggers, and table structures.
- Basic knowledge of data concepts such as JSON, SQL, and API data flow.
- Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Technology Experience (Preferred / Will Train)
- Insuresoft Diamond Policy Administration System
- JSON-based configuration, XML/EDI file structures
- SQL queries for validation and audit
- Workflow automation or integration tools (e.g., n8n, UiPath, Power Automate)
- AI-assisted productivity tools for validation / scripting
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Prior experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, rating, or policy administration strongly preferred.
· Diamond configuration experience is a plus; certification and training will be provided.
