INTRODUCTION

The Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, printers and any electronic media throughout Midland. This role serves as the technical expert and will provide recommendations and feedback regarding the performance, resources and security of all Midland IT systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

System Maintenance and Monitoring:

  • Responsible for coordinating the hardware and software configuration for networks, computers and peripherals;
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues;
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches and maintenance;
  • Recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency;
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of all IT systems, including servers, network devices and cloud based systems.

Network/ Security Management:

  • Supervise and consult with external IT support and services;
  • Including maintenance of existing software/ hardware and recommending upgrades;
  • Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, anti-virus software and data backup/ recovery procedures to ensure data integrity/ availability;
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments;
  • Meetings with consultant services to identify how IT performance can be improved;
  • Manage and review IT service contracts.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving IT-related issues in a timely manner;
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions and access rights.

Project Management:

  • Manage IT projects, including the planning, execution and monitoring of project timelines, while communicating any changes along with expectations while managing budgets;
  • Ensure compliance with Midland policies along with all federal and state legal regulations;
  • Maintain professional communication that represents Midland’s mission, culture, and values;
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field preferred;
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements;
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Information Technology experience in a professional setting.

REQUIREMENTS

  • New Jersey Criminal Review Clearance;
  • Knowledge of networking, routing and firewalls along with troubleshooting and problem resolution;
  • Ability to set up and configure computer/server hardware;
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies;
  • Previous experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace;
  • Experience with website security, intercoms, security cameras preferred;
  • Conduct cyber security trainings;
  • Able and willing to work well in a diverse environment;
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize and manage schedules and projects;
  • Excellent verbal, communication and interpersonal relations skills;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions;
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for extended periods;
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms;
  • Be available after hours in case of emergency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
