Description:
The Web Systems Administrator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the organization's web infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation, security, and performance of web-related systems. This role focuses on web hosting, domain registrations, SSL certificate renewals and implementations, and website analytics. While programming or content management expertise is not required, the Web Systems Administrator will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimize the organization's web presence.
Essential Functions:
- Web Hosting ManagementOversee and manage the organization’s web hosting environments.Coordinate with hosting providers for troubleshooting, performance optimization, and service upgrades.Monitor hosting renewals and ensure timely updates or migrations if needed.
- Domain Name ManagementRegister, renew, and manage domain names for the organization.Maintain accurate domain records and ensure proper DNS configurations.Coordinate with internal teams to align domain strategies with business needs.SSL Certificate Administration:Monitor and manage SSL certificate renewals and implementations.Work with vendors and IT teams to ensure secure HTTPS connections for all web properties.Troubleshoot SSL-related issues and ensure compliance with security best practices.
- Web Analytics & Reporting:Manage and configure Google Analytics to track web traffic, user behavior, and site performance.Generate and distribute periodic reports with insights to support decision-making.Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) in analytics trackingConfigure and maintain website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics)
- Collaboration & Vendor Coordination:Liaise with IT security teams to ensure web infrastructure compliance with company policies.Work with external vendors and service providers for hosting, security, and analytics support. Assist in evaluating new web-related technologies and services to enhance operational efficiency
Backup & Disaster Recovery Ensure proper backup policies are in place for web assets.Develop and test recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of failures.
