Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer / Architect to lead the design, deployment, and advanced support of our global, mission-critical network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a highly skilled, hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Juniper and Palo Alto Networks technologies, capable of architecting complex enterprise and service provider environments that deliver seamless performance for VoIP, video, and other latency-sensitive applications.
The successful candidate will combine architectural vision with operational execution, ensuring the network remains scalable, secure, and reliable across all business services and locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, plan, and deploy highly available and secure WAN, LAN, and data center networks using Juniper (MX Routers, EX/QFX Switches) and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Design, maintain, and optimize MPLS core architectures, including L2/L3 VPNs, Traffic Engineering (TE), and label distribution (LDP/RSVP).
- Develop and manage complex BGP routing policies for multi-homed Internet connectivity, inter-AS communication, and global route optimization.
- Lead the network components of major strategic projects, ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, and security objectives.
- Design and implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to support real-time services, including VoIP and high-volume IP video traffic.
- Architect and support VoIP infrastructure (e.g., SBCs, media gateways) for seamless service delivery.
- Design and manage IP Video Surveillance (IPVS) networking, including camera-to-VMS communication, VLAN segmentation, and PoE/PoE+ power design.
- Conduct capacity planning and traffic analysis for large-scale video and data networks.
- Configure and manage Juniper SRX and Palo Alto NGFWs, including policies, NAT, VPNs, User-ID, and Application-ID.
- Implement and enforce network segmentation, 802.1x authentication, and other advanced security controls.
- Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex network incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis.
- Use network monitoring tools and packet capture utilities (e.g., Wireshark) to diagnose and resolve performance and stability issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior, lead, or architect role.
- Deep hands-on experience with Juniper Junos OS (MX Routers, EX/QFX Switches, SRX Firewalls).
- Expert-level knowledge of BGP (path manipulation, route filtering, peering).
- Strong experience designing and operating MPLS networks, including LDP, RSVP-TE, and L2/L3 VPNs.
- Proven expertise with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama, including App-ID, Content-ID, and WildFire.
- Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot high-volume, real-time networks (VoIP/IP video) with QoS optimization.
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills using tools such as Wireshark, SNMP monitors, and flow analytics.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juniper Networks Certified Expert (JNCIE) or Professional (JNCIP)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) or SDN technologies
- Familiarity with multicast, IPSec, IPv6, and Zero-Trust architectures
