Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator to join our growing team and provide essential day-to-day support across the organization. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining MS Windows desktop systems, company software, and IT equipment for employees nationwide. With operations spanning from New York to California, including retail stores, distribution centers, vehicles, and corporate offices. This position plays a key role in ensuring reliable, efficient, and secure technology performance across all areas of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and configure computers, mobile devices, printers, and related hardware for new users across all company locations.
- Install, update, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security software on user devices and servers.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across a wide variety of environments including retail stores, warehouses, vehicles, and corporate offices — often with limited remote access.
- Monitor system performance, network stability, and device health; proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to helpdesk tickets and IT support requests from employees and management, ensuring timely and professional resolution.
- Work effectively under pressure during system outages to identify root causes and restore service efficiently.
- Evaluate and resolve network connectivity, equipment failures, and software malfunctions; escalate complex issues when appropriate.
- Coordinate and track IT resource procurement, including hardware, software, and licensing renewals.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all IT assets, software licenses, and configurations across multiple locations.
- Train employees on the proper use of hardware, software, and company technology policies.
- Develop and maintain internal knowledge base articles and training materials to support self-service troubleshooting for end users.
- Collaborate closely with the distributed IT team to deploy new systems, implement upgrades, and support companywide technology initiatives.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other business systems.
- Ensure regular data backups, file recovery readiness, and basic cybersecurity protocols are in place and followed.
- Support the setup and maintenance of network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Participate in IT projects such as system rollouts, software migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, security practices, and updates relevant to the organization’s IT environment.
- Assist on-site during IT upgrades, equipment rollouts, and new store or facility openings.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Three to Five years in system administration or related field.
Skills and Abilities
- MS Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting across retail, warehouse, and corporate environments
- Office 365, Azure, and Active Directory management
- Point-of-Sale (POS) and store network system support
- Network setup and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi)
- Hardware and software installation, configuration, and upgrades
- System imaging and deployment using tools like MDT, SCCM, or Acronis
- Helpdesk and remote user support across multiple locations
- Cybersecurity and data protection best practices
- Inventory tracking of IT assets and licensing
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced retail settings.
Physical and Scheduling Requirements
- This role is required to be onsite.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move computer equipment or related items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and kneeling while setting up or maintaining equipment in offices, stores, and warehouse environments.
- Comfortable working in various settings, including retail sales floors, distribution centers, and office environments.
- Occasional travel to company locations for on-site IT projects, upgrades, or support.
- Ability to work extended or flexible hours when performing system updates, network maintenance, or responding to critical outages.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to install, repair, and configure computer systems and components.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
