Quality Systems Administrator

Job Summary

Coordinates activities for compliance of, and the improvement of, all quality systems. Provides technical support to investigate, audit, develop, and implement continuous improvement for production and development processes to achieve high quality, productivity and safety. The selected individual will support Linamar’s Quality Department. Other assignments may be given at the Quality Manager’s discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Quality Manager with documentation and certification of the quality management system.
  • Assure all documentation is maintained in accordance with IATF 16949:2016 and customer specific requirements.
  • Interact with various groups responsible for developing documentation to meet quality requirements and verify current procedures and required records are maintained by conducting audits and interviews. Communicate any deviations to document / process owner and follow-up to assure resolution.
  • Review current documentation and modify format as required to assure effective document control. Support document owners [AB1] as needed.
  • Administer Engineering Change Process, including process alerts and documentation updates, with approvals and recordkeeping.
  • Manage all aspects of internal audit programs (IATF/systems, process and product); includes the planning, scheduling, preparing, auditing, reporting and follow up to closure to ensure compliance and effectiveness of audits.
    • Assist in preparation as needed, and review audits for completeness, accuracy and clarity of findings.
    • Ensure audit findings are addressed through corrective actions and continuous improvement plans
    • Maintain archive of all audit reports and records of actions taken. Drive timely resolution.
  • Prepare for and participate in support of external quality audits, including IATF and customer audits.
  • Assist in the administration of the non-conformance, deviation, and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Reporting on the performance of the systems for review and improvement.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers to ensure all quality requirements are met.
  • Review of customer websites and customer specific requirements.
    • Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in the completion of customer questionnaires.
  • Assist in identifying strengths, weaknesses and training requirements of all personnel as related to the effective implementation and operation of these systems.
  • Perform other tasks/duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • High School Diploma. Additional education in quality, technology, management, and auditing is preferred
  • Successful completion of a certified IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 Auditor course or ability to obtain.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum three years of relevant automotive manufacturing working experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Including, but not limited to: Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook , and Internet).
  • Organized with ability to work independently and to provide professional guidance and oversight to improvement projects in a team-oriented environment. Ability to research and apply requirements.
  • Self-directed, willing to take initiative, and complete assignments aligned with Quality Manager direction.
  • Established verbal and written skills, including the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel. Must be able to interface with managers, organize and lead meetings, develop and conduct training with employees.
  • Knowledge of AIAG core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, SPC, MSA (gage studies) and APQP) preferred. Able to drive root cause analysis and systemic corrective actions.

Ability to understand blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Basic knowledge in gauging methods, calibration, and measurement system analysis. Understand control plans, testing and inspection requirements.
