Job description
Job Summary:
The Systems Administrator I will assist in the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of customer IT infrastructure, including computer systems, network servers, and software applications. This position works under the guidance of senior IT staff to ensure system stability, security, and performance, while also providing essential technical support to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Configuration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and updating of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, Mac, etc.).
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, or network problems, and escalating complex issues to senior administrators or vendors as needed.
- User Account Management: Add, remove, or update user account information, including assigning security permissions and resetting passwords within systems like M365.
- Security and Documentation: Implement and enforce basic security measures, such as monitoring antivirus software and access controls. Maintain accurate and clear documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience is typically required.
- Experience: 2-4 years of related experience in IT support or systems administration preferred. Experience working in a Managed Services Provider environment highly preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- In-Depth knowledge of operating systems and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Proficiency in M365 applications and Microsoft Azure cloud services for administration and collaboration.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
- Understanding of basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation is desirable.
- Knowledge of system security best-practices and data backup/recovery procedures.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
Work Environment:
This role is full-time, working out of our Bozeman, MT office. This position may require occasional after-hours or on-call support for system emergencies or updates.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
